Overview of Passport Access Network Link (PANL)

PANL is a proprietary protocol used to communicate between Passport units. The PANL protocol is adapted from ITU-T X.36 protocol (frame relay) to support signaling and payload transport over the Passport network.

Note: The terms MPANL and PANL both refer to the same protocol and may be used interchangeably. PANL will be used in this manual wherever possible.
