Passport 4400 units use frame relay and Passport Access Network Link (PANL) to transport voice traffic across a network. For Release 4.0 and subsequent releases, Passport 4400 units can transport voice traffic over IP. This allows voice calls to be transported within Ethernet LANs, the Internet, and corporate TCP/IP networks.
